In the year 1993 PEACE promoted Thrift and Credit Programme in Jagdevpur Mandal of Medak district with a mission of enhancing socio economic status of the rural poor women. As there is no existence of financial institution in these villages for extending financial assistance. As a result the moneylenders in the village exploiting the rural poor by charging high rate of interest. All these reasons made PEACE to take up the thrift and credit activity.
